Do animals have consciousness? I believe that they do due to my personal experiences with my own pets and observations of other animals. How much of animal behavior is instinct and how much is preconceived by their thought process? This series of short films by National Geographic hasn't answered my questions but it has opened up possibilities for new perspectives. Amazing stuff.

Cyberbullying: Although it may not feel like it, there is a way out! Cyber Bullying can destroy self esteem which can result in a feeling of hopelessness in the situation. Breaking the vicious cycle of pain can be difficult to achieve on your own so please, tell some one about what is happening. If that person is not listening to you for some reason, please ask for help from another person. This strategy holds well for all people who are suffering abuse in any form.

In the harsh environment of a Rhode Island men's prison, a group of fifty inmates are transforming their lives through the practice of meditation. This year I will be exploring the benefits of mindfulness on victims and criminals alike in a research project in Melbourne. My hope is to make mindfulness practices available to all people who are going through the legal/criminal/justice system. I have benefited greatly from mindfulness practice in my own personal journey and am hoping to share what I have learned in order to make life a little more fulfilling for others.
