https://acestoohigh.com/got-your-ace-score/ This article is meant to be informative, but may be triggering to some. Remember that you are an individual with the choice to make change, not a statistic. My ACE's score is 7 and although challenging at times, particularly before reaching maturity, my life is now fulfilled and meaningful. I continue to struggle with health problems but they are not my focus. Self care in every way possible helps to enable possibilities that I never dreamed of. Live your Bliss Mairead 💓☯🐾

Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saens Dance the Macabre, Dance of Death or Dance of the Cortchul was written in the mid 1400's as and artistic or symbolic reminder of the inevitability that we shall all, one day meet death. This Memento mori was created at a time of great illness, war, poverty and death throughout Europe. It was a time when people, no matter their social standing , found themselves faced with the prospects of having family, friends and their own lives taken by the grim reaper or culturally appropriate death spirit, with little or no warning. Whole families and villages could be wiped out. Today we have made huge advances in medicine, yet we still are vulnerable to disease and our own mortality. Maybe it is through accepting that we are not immortal, that our time is limited and that we must forge on to make the most of all relationships and situations, that we can truly live our lives to the full and Dance the Macabre. Sexual Assault Survivors Want Less Police, More Trauma-Informed Professionals — Especially For Black Victims : Sammy Caiola

I can personally attest to the difficult experiences that are face while reporting sexual assault to the police and then undergoing the judicial system. During the very long process of having my childhood abuser, Brother Bernard Hartman arrested and then convicted and jailed, I felt very alone and invisible. I felt more like a statistic than a person for most of the time. I believe that with Trauma Informed Practices in place throughout every level of the process, I might have spent much more of that time of my life actually living, and not merely existing.
