Telling People to Forgive is Gaslighting in Disguise : By Ruth Parchment

https://www.elephantjournal.com/2020/01/forgiveness-is-a-choice-fo-we-cause-more-harm-than-good-by-telling-people-to-find-forgiveness/?fbclid=IwAR1eF6fH-gZ0AbY553VvaQ9MYr38osvLUCV8Bi0vvG2J1Lju3K4Jifmvmsg I absolutely understand forgiving the small stuff, but when some one in a caring or respected role,  knowingly, and continuously abuses, manipulates and degrades your self esteem and physical body for a life time, and can see no wrongdoing in their behaviours, the act of Forgiveness can seem a bazar and dangerous decision to make.

4 Science-Backed Methods to Help Your Brain Process Trauma : By Debbie Hampton

Image
https://thebestbrainpossible.com/trauma-brain-heal-therapy/?fbclid=IwAR1m0tRoYgi2wd6N0O07MQ1yVBFDO04Nt26N32YvCD0zKNO8IMOQupZ1gUo This is an excellent and informative article. Science backed modalities are not the only forms of therapy that work for trauma recovery.  As a trauma therapist who practices Creative Arts Therapies, Animal Assisted Psychotherapy and Talk therapy, I have witnessed clients find their freedom while sitting in my home environment. Many of my clients have had poor modeling from their caregivers as children.  Poor self regulation, lack of grounding, inner critic bombardment and self-sabotage perpetuate the cruel voices of many of the adults who were supposed to be their protectors and role models as infants, children and adolescents.    The combination of these three modalities, practiced in a calm family home, seem to offer my clients an opportunity to safely explore new experiences and ways of being present.
